6 day - climbing trip
Departing December 2019
The plan for this trip is to explore the limestone crags of Cat Ba and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.
Landing in Hanoi, we'll head straight to the local climbing gymto get to know each other and warm up for our trip.
From Hanoi, we will take the bus and ferry to the stunning Cat Ba Island. After a lunch of Vietnamese Pho we'll head out to the Hidden Valley and begin climbing.
With so many crags to choose from, we'll climb crags based on the weather and what we want to achieve. We'll also head out on a boat to the secluded MIT Beach to climb with a view of the beautiful Ha Long Bay.
After so much climbing, you can choose to either revisit a crag or take time off the wall to explore non-climbing activities, such as kayaking around the cliffs, or even trekking in the National Park.
After all the adventure, we'll head back to Hanoi in the early morning before flying back to Hong Kong ready to celebrate the New Year and a week of awesome climbing.
Trip starts in Hanoi, Vietnam in the afternoon. Bouldering in local gym in evening. Overnight in Cocoon Inn
Transfer to Cat Ba by bus and ferry. Climb in afternoon. Overnight in Cat Ba Guesthouse

N.b. Accommodation may change but will be of similar quality. Expedition dates will remain the same.
Accommodation will be twin or private dorm-style rooms in comfortable hostels and hotels in towns.
Breakfast and dinner will be included at the hotel or local restaurants. Lunch can be easily arranged through local shops or food stalls near the crags.
The team will take tourist buses and ferries for long-distance travel and shared taxis for shorter trips.
At the first training the team will be given a reccommended kit list. We suggest that you bring your own climbing harness, helmet and shoes. We will provide all other climbing equipment. We can also rent harness and shoes at a small cost if you need to borrow.
The open climb course are aimed at active people 18 or over.
Our trip leaders will hold one compulsory training day covering kit, belaying skills, what to expect, fitness and to get to know each other. Further training days will be held for free and will be open to family and friends too.
Minimum Fitness Requirements
We highly recommend that to fully enjoy the experience you undertake some form of physical and climbing training in your own time.
Our aim to be as inclusive as possible, so for participants that we feel do not have a sufficient base level of fitness we may suggest a training action plan to help.
Get in touch with any fitness, health, kit or training questions which remain unanswered.
The trip will have a bilingual trip leader (English and Cantonese).
